This tour is suited for people of all ages and does not require above-average physical condition.
A dress code is required to enter places of worship. Please cover your knees and shoulders before entering them.
You do not need to take part in every exhibition presented during this tour. Pick the one that interest you the most and have your unforgettable experience visiting the main symbol of Kraków city.
Explore the Wawel Castle, Kraków’s most famous landmark, with our local English-speaking guide on a complex small group guided tour. As it is the most recognizable monument, it is a total must for everyone that would like to visit the city and feel its vibe. Meet your guide and a small group of maximum 8 participants at the end of the Grodzka Street and head towards Wawel Hill.
During the first stage of the tour you will explore the exterior part of the castle, with its marvellous tiered arcades in the Renaissance courtyard. Learn about the magnificent architecture and the history of the castle, visit the iconic Wawel Cathedral and look through the hill to admire the Vistula River and one of the best Kraków’s cityscapes.
After a short break we will start the second stage of the tour that gives you an opportunity of skipping the line and visiting the interios of the castle. Follow your guide to admire the State Rooms exhibition where ceremonial state and court events along with the offical guest parties and audiences used to take place. This part of the tour lasts approximately an hour.
You will then enjoy a short break before we visit the Royal Private apartments with priority access. You will see the rooms in the first floor of the castle which were occupied bythe King and his family as well as their courtiers and guests. Walk along the private guest bedroom and the column hall and admire original larch wood ceilings and impressive painted friezes.
You will meet your guide and a group of up to 8 people on Adam Studziński’s Square at the pick-up time which is confirmed on your ticket. We recommend to appear at the meeting point at least 5 minutes before departure.
Our guide is easy to recognize as he or she will hold a signboard with the logo of our company. Your ticket will be scanned before the tour. Both paper and electronic tickets are accepted.
When we are all ready, we will head towards the Wawel Hill.
You will visit the exterior part of the Wawel Castle, including its impressive Renaissance arcaded courtyard, and the interior of the Wawel Cathedral. Spot the legendary Dragon’s Statue by the River from the spacious terraces of the castle.
This part of the tour will take approximately 2 hours.
Enjoy a little break of approximately 15 minutes at the Wawel castle to explore its courtyard on your own or enjoy a cup of coffee.
After the main introduction of the Wawel Castle you will have a chance to visit the State Rooms which are the main royal chambers where the guests were hosted.
The tour is approx. 1 hour.
Take a little break for another 15 mins to take some pictures and see the Wawel Castle iconic architecture.
After seeing the State Rooms now it is a time to see the Royal Apartments. Have a look how the King and his family were living and admire the marvelous wall paintings and its renessance style interiors.
The tour ends at the Wawel Castle. You can easily return to the Old Town to have a walk in the Main Square, enjoying the cup of coffee at the heart of the city looking right at the Cloth Hall and St Mary’s Church.
